4 People. I admire, adore and love to bits. For their art, science, scholarship and the hope they teach. That the world is not populated by snowflakes alone. And that the woke can be put to sleep. Gently.

Jane Goodall

60 years studying wild chimpanzees in Gombe. She is a chimpanzee herself – and that is an incredible compliment to her. She gave them human names and saw that they too are humans: love, back-rubs, fights, war, cannibalism (yes) and all. Graybeard didn't want the nut Jane offered him but squeezed her hand – the way chimpanzees reassure each other. That moment is immortalized in a bronze statue at the Chicago Field Museum.

Gary Larson is a spectacular American cartoonist whose 'Far Side' cartoons are far-out and side-splitting. They mostly involve animals commenting on the 'Human condition'. In one cartoon a female chimpanzee is grooming her 'husband' and finds a blonde hair. She says " Well well conducting a little more "research" with that Jane Goodall Tramp !!!!!!

The fallout was immediate, tremendous and unbelievable

a. The Director of the Jane Goodall Institute was infuriated and wrote to the cartoon syndicate and various newspapers.

b. Gary Larson was horrified that he might have hurt someone he respected so much.

c. Jane Goodall wrote to Gary Larson about how much she appreciated the cartoon and they became lifelong friends.

d. A t-Shirt with that cartoon was made, all proceeds going to the Jane Goodall Institute.

e. Goodall wrote a preface to Gary Larson's Far Side 5 book !!!

f. She and Gary Larson together signed a copy of the Cartoon which was sold for charity with a lock of her hair !!!!!!!!

g. Frodo a Gombe Chimpanzee attacked Gary Larson when he visited the Gombe Reserve many years later!!!

To cut a long story short. Today Kazakhstan's International Tourism Campaign is based on the Borat Catchphrase - "Very Nice".

Kazakhstan has capitalized on Satire. How wonderful can a country be?
